More than four decades since he became the first Coxswain of Helensburgh Lifeboat, Willie Lamond returned to the station during one of the Wednesday Boatshed Open afternoons. Willie was one of the leading figures in establishing a lifeboat station in the town in 1965. At that time, Willie was Pier Master at Rhu. Crew member Jamie Shields is pictured explaining the boat's new technology to Willie.
